Cell Spotter · Google Sheets
Find any value and pin cells across tabs in Google Sheets
In a 200-column sheet, clicking a cell is disorienting: you know the value, but not which row or column you're in without tracing up and left to the headers. And Ctrl+F finds a value — then drops you there with no map.
The manual way
Two separate tools, neither quite enough:
- Find (Ctrl+F / ⌘F) — jumps to matches and highlights them, but gives you no bearings. You still trace up to the column letter and left to the row number to know where you landed.
- Your own eyes — in a wide sheet, keeping a column header in view while you scroll means freezing rows, and even then the connection between "cell" and "which column is this" is a manual trace.
The result: you lose your place constantly, and re-orienting after every jump is a slow, error-prone scroll-and-scan.
The sheetXtend way
Cell Spotter gives you three things Sheets doesn't:
- A live crosshair — a row and column band follow your active cell, so you always know exactly where you are without tracing to the headers.
- Find that jumps and highlights — search for any value; every hit flashes green so you can see the pattern, not just the first match.
- Pins — bookmark the cells you keep coming back to, across tabs, so "that one number" is one click away instead of a search.
A live row/column crosshair follows your active cell so you never lose your place. Find jumps to any value, and pins bookmark the cells you keep coming back to.
When it pays for itself
Wide models where you're cross-referencing a value between two tabs. Reviews where you need a "you are here" while you walk a column. Any sheet big enough that the header row scrolls out of view. If you've ever said "wait, which column is this?" — that's the exact moment Cell Spotter earns its keep.
